Prime 29

I don’t know what it is about turning 29 in November of 2017 but there has been a major shift in my lifes sphere. I mean EVERYTHING from spiritual to mental, physically and yes even financially. Everything has begun to change for me. Now to the average person these changes would have them headed for the hills but I’m grounded. I’m somehow … at peace. Maybe its the anticipation of turning 30 years old this year? Maybe it’s harvest season. Well no matter what it is, one thing I know without a shade of a doubt; God is doing something brand spanking new in my life.

Now I will be completely honest, these past few months have been down right scary. They have been scary for me because as you all know by now I am kinda sorta a control freak and I loathe surprises. But there is one story that has been on replay in a sense in my mind for weeks now and it’s the story of Peter walking on water. I keep thinking about a few things:

  1. Peter WANTED to walk on water. He wanted to do something he had never seen before, something no one would dare dream of doing.
  2. His determination to do it. Peter literally mustered up all of the faith he had to put one foot after the other on to the water and then to stand up… on water!
  3. The distractions! Along with this particular point, the Holy Spirit has been stressing to me the importance of being FOCUSED. Peter was all good until he got distracted by the winds around him. aka the issues and circumstances all around us. Peter’s faith was enough to keep his weight and movement up ON water until he let the distractions take over.
  4. Jesus IMMEDIATELY helped Peter when he began to drown. I like to think of this part as the “safety net”. The bible says that Jesus was far from the boat and thats why the disciples weren’t sure if it was him or a ghost. Peter asked Jesus if its you (he still couldn’t tell) bid me to come and Jesus called him out. How did Jesus get to Peter in time to IMMEDIATELY grab him up from drowning? Even when things seem to be in over our heads and we know we heard God say yes, because he said YES – he is always readily near to rescue us.

This year is certainly looking like a challenge but it’s a challenge I am looking forward to conquering. The never changing Word of God tells me that I am MORE THAN A CONQUERER through Christ Jesus. So no job loss, no body changes, no worries or fears, no insecurities will keep me from experiencing the fullness and abundances that God has for me.
